coachella has been infamously dubbed the “influencer olympics”. coachella event spent over $5 billion dollars on influencer marketing in 2018, so you can imagine how bigger that number probably got. everyone going is there to show off their outfit and to brag about who paid for them to go the actual event. this three-day weekend can make or break a brand or company, with lots of criticism going into the hotel, the amenities, and the outfits they provided influencers to wear. months prior to the actual event, brands reach out to influencers inviting them to coachella to stay with them and wear outfits provided by them. coachella is one of the best places for brand and influencer marketing. it has been dubbed the influencer olympics for a reason. day 1 outfits and accommodations have already been posted on every sort of social media platform, so here is my analysis on everything you need to know about what brands did it the best from day 1 of the infamous influencer olympics.
the REVOLVE fest
REVOLVE is an online shopping website that carries a bunch of different higher end brands. they have been known for throwing the best coachella events, titled the “REVOLVE Festival” and make sure to send all the hottest influencers to go and promote. some of the girls they went are some of the most followed fashion influencers on Instagram right now, names like Lauren Wolfe, Remi Bader, Ellie Thuman, Kit Keenan, and Acquired Style (aka Brigette). their day 1 outfits were phenomenal, and REVOLVE even gifted them outfits to wear from their website. they throw pool parties at their bought out hotel where everyone is vying for an invite. then on day 2 and 3, they throw a mini festival with performers like Jack Harlow, Post Malone, Ty Dolla Sign, and WILLOW. naturally, REVOLVE killed the coachella game and if you have an in to the REVOLVE fest, you are immediately cool.
here are some of my fav looks from the REVOLVE girls:
H&M: hotel hennes
honestly, when I think of coachella, H&M is not the first brand that comes to mind to be sending influencers to the festival, or for buying out an entire hotel for that matter. H&M sent famous NYC fashion student influencer Kate Bartlett to coachella and to stay at their “hotel hennes”. the hotel was completely bought out and transformed to correlate to H&M’s new campaign. their was even a bed in the middle of the pool. they had hair and makeup stations and helped their influencers put together their outfits. sadly, H&M’s fantastic coachella marketing campaign was not up to par with their styling. Bartlett was styled in MELKE NYC in a set that the internet dubbed, “the mitochondria.” she looks beautiful, but not my fave, and maybe wasn’t the best look for H&M. here it is below:
Pandora Oasis
another shocking brand that came out of nowhere was Pandora (the jewelry company, not that radio station) this was one of my favorite brands x influencer giftings and outfits. some of my favorite influencers were a part of the stunning retro-themed “Pandora Oasis”, names like Sophie Suchan, Jourdan Sloan, Emma Leger, and Nitsan Raiter. Pandora had a VIP lunch with Atlantic Records, a jewelry gifting suite, food trucks, and their very own mini-concert where they’re heading up-and-coming female artists. Pandora absolutely crushed it, and their girlies did too. these influencers are known for their high-end looks, some of them rocked fabulous Chanel and Balenciaga looks yesterday, with of course beautiful Pandora accessories.
